Rainbows: Rainbows is a peer support group, effective in assisting children and adolescents through the grief process. It is not counseling or Therapy and is provided by a trained facilitator, Mrs Sharon Rimmer, our Health and Wellbeing coordinator. Rainbows is a 12 week course, the primary goal being to provide a safe, loving environment for young people to sort through their pain and confusion, build self-esteem and learn coping tools to deal with their losses. Sharon Rimmer Health and Wellbeing Co-ordinator Breakfast Club: The Breakfast Club is held in Room 14 on Monday and Friday mornings between 7:45 and 8:30 am. We serve Milo, toast and cereal, as well as fruit and yogurt when available, to our students, ensuring a healthy start to the day. Everyone is welcome to our warm, caring, friendly environment. Come along and enjoy our hospitality and our games. Feel free to look at our photo album below. Sharon Rimmer Breakfast Club Co-ordinator . Activities Room: We are very fortunate to have Room 14 as an activity room, which is open every recess and lunch for all or our students. Puzzles, play dough, board games, books, Lego and construction keeps everyone busy. Room 14 is a fun-filled, fantastic, friendly room which is very popular with our students. Sharon Rimmer Health and Wellbeing Co-ordinator . Equestrian Program: Since the beginning of 2006 Warnbro Primary School has been proud to offer our students an Equestrian programme. Each semester eight students are selected to join the programme which runs from Kindergarten to Year 7. The children attend weekly riding lessons which are provided by Peel Riding for the Disabled Association. At the lessons every child is given their own horse and is assisted by volunteer helpers and a qualified instructor. All of the students who are lucky enough to join the programme believe that Monday mornings are the very best part of school! We see children develop great self confidence through learning to ride and developing a rapport with their horse. The children gain such tremendous success and enjoyment through their involvement with horses and this has a very beneficial effect on their learning. At Warnbro Primary School horse riding helps our students develop co-ordination, courage, confidence and self-esteem. Each semester we hold a special horse show to showcase the students’ talents.
